I suggest you report both these items to AspenTech support, and we hope that they will get fixed. The unit conversion issue I suppose is easily demonstrated.

Property "flow" is required to be supported at a feed port. The way to document this is the following:

“The feature is about providing value for the “flow” property in a Material Object connected to the inlet Port of a Unit Operation.

The 1.1 Thermo specification says in section 5.2.4 that “a Material Object that is passed to a Unit Operation must support the flow and totalflow properties”.

In the description of GetSinglePhaseProp, it is indicated that “it is required that a component that implements the ICapeThermoMaterial interface will always support the following properties: temperature, pressure, fraction, phaseFraction, flow, totalFlow.”

In section 7.5.7 it is mentioned “Unit Operations can assume that feed streams are in equilibrium and that the flow rates of the feeds are available.”

In section 2.1.6 of the UNIT spec (conceptual examples under 2.1 titled “User requirements…”), it is written that “the Unit will obtain feed conditions, such as pressure, temperature, flow, composition, … from Material Objects connected to its inlet Ports…”. Further in the same section it is written that “pressure”, “temperature”, “fraction”, “phasefraction”, “flow” and “totalFlow” are available on inlet materials without calculations.

The specifications are clearly stating that property “flow” should be available on a Material Object connected to an inlet Port of a Unit Operation.”

All of this can be reported to AspenTech support.

The best way to get each compound flow, is through "totalFlow" and "fraction" of overall material stream or a single phase.Aspen supports "flow" property not well.
